As a former collegiate athlete and current sports enthusiast, I’ve learned about and appreciated the importance of a team.  Sometimes life hits us with unexpected obstacles.  As a therapist, I want to be on your life team! That means walking alongside you, encouraging you, holding hope, and  challenging you.  I focus on building mental fitness, healing from trauma, grief, loss, addiction and finding connection and intimacy with those close to you.

Tender self-compassion allows us to comfort and reassure ourselves when we don't succeed, and fierce self-compassion inspires us to try again

- Kristin Neff

My Story

This journey started in college when I suffered a major arm injury and heard the infamous words “Tommy John surgery”. I could barely move as it sunk in that I was being let go as a scholarship athlete. I lost my team, my athletic ability, and my identity as an athlete all at once. Back then, I wouldn’t have identified that experience with grief and loss, but today I see it differently.

I became a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) by exploring my personal journey in mental fitness and experiencing several pivotal moments professionally. Those professional experiences that made up my life after collegiate sports included working with youth, being an Academic Counselor, and pursing my master's in MFT as a full-time student. Each transition formulated my courage and strength which has now translated into my work as a therapist.

While that journey has led me to become an MFT, life is more than that. I currently pursue many activities to help balance myself including training for triathlons, playing fantasy football, exploring yoga practices, listening to audiobooks, and of course soaking up the sunshine whether it's on the beach or in the mountains. I have a wonderful community of people which includes family, a partner of 13+ years with whom I have 2 children, and close friends.
